  • This study deals with the sedimentological and stratigraphic description of Pleistocene coastal deposits of Formentera which show evidences of interference processes between alluvial and aeolian environments. Although initially, they are two different environments, with different processes and resulting forms, their interaction often produces deposits that share characteristics of both environments, as well as, maintain elements in herited from each other (i.e. sediment). The climate seems to be one of the most important control on the role and magnitude of each environment in terms of sedimentary supply, precipitation, runoff or aeolian transport. Main sedimentary facies have been described in this study representing the succession of aeolian, alluvial, marine and coastal environments. Also, these coastal deposits are a useful indicator of the geomorphologicalprocesses and changes that occurred during the Pleistocene, unraveling the environmental evolution during this period.
