A set of realistic applications inspired by local industries were integrated in a process control course at UQAR. The course employsa multidisciplinary approach, integrating notions from various fields of engineering through theme examples such as wastewatertreatment, pulp and paper making, and mineral grinding (mining industry). Laboratories involving these processes were realizedusing a simulation software designed for process control education. A fourth laboratory comprising the use of an industrialprogrammable controller was also part of the course. Feedback and comparative appreciation from the students is included.
