Resumen de Análisis comparativo del impacto de los puertos de cruceros del ámbito del estrecho: los casos de Cádiz y "Tánger Ville"

El Mediterráneo se ha convertido en unas de las zonas más importantes a nivel mundial del turismo de cruceros junto con el Caribe. Los países mediterráneos más importantes en este sector son Italia y España. Andalucía en la actualidad presenta una posición privilegiada en cuanto al número de cruceristas y escalas que recibe, siendo la cuarta comunidad autónoma de España y la segunda de la Península, después de Cataluña, significando el 10,4 % del total nacional. En el caso de la ciudad de Cádiz, el turismo de cruceros se presenta como una oportunidad para todos los agentes involucrados en el sector aunque con incertidumbres de difícil resolución. Una de ellas es la completa renovación del puerto de Tánger y la previsible estabilidad de la ribera sur del Mediterráneo que puede provocar una reestructuración de la oferta y la demanda. La comunicación tiene como objetivo el análisis comparativo de la actividad turística de cruceros de las ciudades de Cádiz y Tánger dentro del entorno del Estrecho de Gibraltar para plantear posibles soluciones desde la complementariedad de dichos puertos o la búsqueda de estrategias que incluyan al turismo de cruceros dentro de una oferta global de turismo azul donde el puerto y la ciudad puedan tener un papel determinante.

The Mediterranean has become one of the most important areas in the world of cruise tourism along with the Caribbean. The most important Mediterranean countries in this sector are Italy and Spain. Andalusia currently has a privileged position in terms of the number of cruise ships and stopovers it receives, being the fourth autonomous community of Spain and the second of the peninsula, after Cataluña, representing 10.4% of the national total. In the case of Cadiz city, cruise tourism is presented as an opportunity for all agents involved in the sector, although with uncertainties that in some cases are difficult to resolve. One of these uncertainties is the complete renovation of the port of Tangier (which will face two destinations ‐two local ports‐ against the interests of shipping companies with global interests) and the predictable stability of the southern shore of the Mediterranean that may lead to a restructuring of supply and demand. This paper aming at compare the tourism activity of cruise ships in the cities of Cadiz and Tangier within the Strait of Gibraltar to propose possible solutions from the complementarity of these ports or the search for strategies that include cruise tourism of a global offer of blue tourism where the port and the city can play a determining role.
