  El deporte se ha convertido en un paradigma de la globalización y goza de una inmensa popularidad. Sus competiciones están reguladas por unas reglas de juego, normativas y organizaciones específicas surgidas de la evolución práctica y auspiciadas en buena medida por el Movimiento Olímpico y por las Federaciones internacionales de cada disciplina deportiva. Este artículo está dedicado a estudiar cómo el sistema jurídico internacional está moldeando el desarrollo del fenómeno deportivo, a pesar de resultar por sí mismo un fruto característico de la pujanza de la sociedad civil. Con ello se pretende evaluar la posible existencia y/o necesidad de un subsistema o sector del Derecho internacional dedicado a esta materia.

  Sport has become a paradigm of globalization and it enjoys immense popularity. Their competitions are subject to specific rules of the game, regulations and organizations arising from the practical evolution and sponsored to a large extent by the Olympic Movement and by the International Federations of each sport. This article is dedicated to studying how the international legal system is shaping the development of the sports phenomenon, despite being a characteristic fruit of the strength of civil society. This is intended to assess the possible existence and / or need of a subsystem or sector of international law dedicated to this matter.
