    Si pensamos que toda la historia de la ciudad, o de sus arquitecturas, está fertilizada por ilusiones –es decir, por pensamientos que recorren tanto el espacio utópico como el más pragmático–, se comprenderá fácilmente el valor de algunos textos como los considerados aquí. Aunque dispares por naturaleza y tiempo, todos contribuyen al conocimiento de importantes problemáticas vinculadas a la teoría y al proyecto. Howard y Soria, junto con Kelly, pero también Eiximenis, Sinapia, Fourier y Cabet, Mendoza o Hitler, nos proporcionan textos plagados de ensoñaciones a los que se han unido los de instituciones u organismos que predican la bondad de la ciudad inteligente; tal vez un nuevo trampantojo.

    By approaching the entire history of the city, or its architecture, from the belief that it has been fed and watered with dreams, in other words by thoughts that occupy both the utopian space and the most pragmatic, we can more easily come to understand the value of texts such as those considered here. Although disparate in terms of nature and time, they all contribute to the knowledge of meaningful problems linked to theory and project. Along with Kelly, Eiximenis, Sinapia, Fourier, Cabet, Mendoza and Hitler, Howard and Soria provide us with texts that are filled with daydreams, to which have been added those of institutions and bodies exhorting the goodness of the intelligent city, which is perhaps a new illusion.
