Resumen de Neuropuntura: una posibilidad de intervención en hipoacusia neurosensorial congénita. Reporte de caso

  La hipoacusia se define como una deficiencia o pérdida auditiva en uno o ambos oídos, y hay diferentes niveles de deficiencia auditiva. Es la anormalidad congénita más común en el recién nacido, ocurre en 3 de cada 1.000 nacidos vivos y el 20% de estos casos tiene perdida profunda de la audición. La neuropuntura es un término acuñado a partir de la terapia neural y la acupuntura. Se define como la aplicación de terapia neural dentro de puntos de acupuntura, y une las propiedades de cada tratamiento para obtener máximos resultados. El presente artículo es un estudio de casos de pacientes con hipoacusia profunda, uno de ellos con tratamiento convencional (auxiliares auditivos) y otro solo con tratamiento complementario. Se someten a tratamiento con neuropuntura y al cabo de 2 meses se realizan potenciales auditivos de tallo cerebral, con disminución del grado de hipoacusia en ambos casos; se continuó tratamiento y al término de este se realizan nuevos potenciales o audiometría según el lugar de seguimiento del paciente, y se obtiene audición normal en ambos casos, asimismo se retira el uso de auxiliares auditivos.

  Hypoacusis is defined as a hearing impairment or loss in one or both ears. There are different levels of hearing impairment. It is the most common congenital abnormality in the newborn, occurs in 3 out of every 1000 live births, and 20% of these cases have profound hearing loss. Neuropuncture is a term coined from Neural Therapy and Acupuncture. It is defined as the application of neural therapy within acupuncture points, including the properties of each treatment to obtain maximum results. This article is a case study of patients with profound hearing loss, one of them with conventional treatment, such as the use of hearing aids, and another using only complementary treatment. They received treatment with Neuropuncture, and after 2 months Auditory Stem Potentials were carried out with a decrease in the level of hearing loss in both cases. Treatment was continued and at the end of this, new potentials or audiometry were performed according to the location of the patient, and normal hearing was obtained in both cases. The use of hearing aids was withdrawn.
