El autor profundiza, con nuevos documentos, en los antecedentes familiares y artísticos de Andrés de Vandelvira, que había estudiado ya en otras ocasiones, retomando la hipótesis de que pudiera ser hijo o pariente próximo del maestro Pedro López que trabajó en Jaén, Málaga y Antequera, y que pudiera haber estado durante varios años (¿1514-23?) en Alcaraz y en otras poblaciones vecinas de la Sierra, la Mancha y el Campo de Montiel. A la vez analiza, desde la perspectiva que dan los documentos, el misterio que existe sobre el aprendizaje de un joven que ya tiene un equipo a sus órdenes con 17 años, es maestro a los 20, y a los 25 es llamado a dar trazas del grandioso monasterio de Uclés y hace la magnífca Puerta del Alhorí de su ciudad natal antes de hacerse célebre en Úbeda y Jaén.

The author delves with new documents into the family and artistic background of Andrés de Vandelvira, which he had studied on other occasions, reinforcing the hypothesis that he could be the son or close relative of Pedro López, who worked in Jaén, Malaga and Antequera, and may have been for some years (¿1514-23?) in Alcaraz and in other neighboring towns of La Sierra, La Mancha and Campo de Montiel. Simultaneously he analyzes, from the perspective of the documents, the mystery that exists about the learning of a young man who command a team at 17 years old, he is a master at 20, and at 25 he is called to give traces of the great monastery of Uclés and makes the magnifcent Puerta del Alhorí on his hometown before becoming famous in Úbeda and Jaén.
