El presente artículo resume la ponencia que presentó F. Dubosquet, una hispanista francesa en la Real Academia de Córdoba, en homenaje al escritor español Antonio Gala. Se elabora a partir de la metáfora del Cante Jondo como espejo de la creación polifacética del poeta. A través de su poesía, sus columnas, su teatro y sus novelas, Antonio Gala revela las raíces profundas de una cultura española milenaria, cuya metonimia sería Andalucía, por su capacidad a reunir lo más culto y lo más trivial. El poeta y su creación se vuelve la garganta prestada de todo un pueblo, arte popular y exigente a la vez, sin renunciar nunca a lo que es:
un intelectual, un creador, un andaluz universal.

The current article is the abstract of a speech by a French Hispanicist F. Dubosquet, delivered at her integration to the Real Academia de Córdoba, in homage to the Spanish writer Antonio Gala. It is built from the Cante Jondo metaphor, as a mirror to the poet’s multi facets creation. Through his poetry, his press articles, his dramas and his novels, Antonio Gala reveals the deep roots of a millenary Spanish culture, from which Andalusia would be the metonymy by its capacity to combine the most refined or the most trivial. The poet and his oeuvre gives his own voice to a whole people, a popular art but demanding too, never giving up to what he is: an intellectual, a creator, a universal Andalusian.
