El salafismo yihadista: evolución, propaganda y disuasión

    El islam constituye una guía de comportamiento y de salvación para más de 1.200 millones de creyentes musulmanes. Si unimos a la ubicuidad e infalibilidad que posee para sus practicantes una visión extremista y sesgada del Corán, su libro sagrado, este se convierte en herramienta de captación y justificación de las actividades violentas por parte de los yihadistas radicalizados. En este capítulo se analizará primeramente los hitos históricos, la evolución y el desarrollo de la ideología y los conceptos enarbolados por grupos salafistas yihadistas, especialmente desde los años 70 del siglo pasado cuando se desató su violenta radicalización. Se tratará igualmente los medios de propaganda y captación así como su más reciente evolución, para finalizar con varios ejemplos de la interpretación que los radicales hacen de los textos sagrados pervirtiendo conceptos como «yihad» (lucha) o «shahid» (mártir), perversión que permite justificar los ataques y atentados suicidas. Por su parte los regímenes políticos que sufren las consecuencias violentas de estos grupos salafistas yihadistas se limitan a ofrecer una respuesta represiva y, en muchas ocasiones, se han beneficiado de la presencia de dichos grupos para apuntalarse en el poder y reprimir a otros movimientos de talante laico y/o democrático.

    Islam is a behavior guide and a salvation opportunity for more than 1.2 billion Muslim believers. If the Quran, the sacred book of Islam, is interpreted and read from an extremist perspective, it becomes an efficient tool for capturing and justifying violent activities by radicalized jihadists. In this chapter we will analyze the historical milestones, the evolution and the development of the ideology and the concepts raised by the Salafist jihadist groups, especially since the 70s of the last century when their violent radicalization was unleashed. It will also deal with the means of propaganda and recruitment and its most recent evolution. It will end with several examples of the interpretation that the radicals make of the sacred texts, perverting concepts such as «jihad» (struggle) or «shahid» (martyr), perversion that allows to justify attacks and suicide attacks. Furthermore, the political regimes that suffer the violent consequences of these jihadist Salafist groups have limited themselves to offering a repressive response and, in many cases, they have benefited from the presence of these groups to stay in power or repress other movements.
