  • Resumen
    • The CuaTeNeo(*) CPS network was set up in the south-east of the Iberian Peninsula to quantify the current horizontal deformations rates. This forms part of a global project which is a collaboration between different specialists in Earth Sciences. The network was designed to control the system of faults Alhama de Murcia, Palomares and Carboneras, where strike-slip faults predominate. The network, consisting of 15 lasting geodetic points, was designed bearing in mind that precise geodetic measurements are required in order to obtain significant results over humanly feasible times scales, given the low deformation rates expected in the area (0.5 cm/year). The first CPS measurements campaign (epoch 0) was carried out in 1997. Bernese software was used to obtain the results of the network adjustment. An average precision of 1.04 mm for the longitude and 1.34 mm for the latitude was obtained for the location of the vertices.
