Resumen de Simancas, las órdenes militares y la política archivística (S. XVI-XVIII): de Francisco de los Cobos a Ricardo Wall

  Cada periodo tiene su propia política de archivos y de gestión documental. La contextualización archivística permite localizar documentación considerada perdida. Es el caso de la bulas de incorporación de los maestrazgos de las Órdenes Militares a la Corona, y de otros documentos importantes para la historia de las Órdenes en el siglo XVI, que se conservaron en Simancas hasta el siglo XVIII. El hecho de que estos documentos estén en el Archivo Histórico Nacional, pero no con el resto de la documentación de la Órdenes Militares, está condicionado por la forma en que los secretarios reales de Carlos V y Felipe II gestionaron estos asuntos, por cómo se formó el archivo de Simancas y, muy especialmente, por la política ar-chivística de las Secretarías de Estado y del Despacho del siglo XVIII.

  Each period has its own archive file and document management policy. The archival contextualization allows archives to locate documents once considered to be lost. This is particularly the case of the bulls of incorporation of the maestrazgos of the Military Orders to the Spanish Crow and other relevant historical documents important to the order in the sixteenth century, which were preserved in the General Archive of Simancas up until the eighteenth century. The fact that these documents are in the National Historical Archives (Spain), but not with the rest of the Military Orders archives, is due to way in which the royal secretaries of Charles V and Felipe II managed these matters, how the archives of Simancas were developed, and particularly, the advancement of archival policies of the Secretaries of State and Office in the eighteenth century.
