An ignimbritic sheet interlayered in Paleogene (Oligo-Miocene?) continental deposits in the Northern Ranges of Majorca is made up of rhyolites and K-rich rhyolites, of presumed calc-alkaline origin. This volcanic activity is interpreted in the framework of an active margin with development of marginal basins during Tertiary times in the Westerm Mediterranean, in accordance with pre-established models.
