Resumen de Marx e il mondo extraeuropeo

Luca Basso

  • The essay focuses on the Marxian analysis of the non-European world, without intending it as a compact horizon endowed with unitary characteristics within it. The first part of the text is dedicated to the investigation of what Europe is for Marx, a preliminary issue to the theme of confrontation with the non-European world, and what is the overall relationship between capitalist mode of production and Europe, in particular Western Europe. The second part addresses the question of the relationship between Marx and the extra-European world, with particular reference to India and China, but also with a reference to Russia, highlighting that there is growing awareness of the fact that social and political horizon cannot be circumscribed on the borders of Europe alone.
