Resumen de El tratamiento por la OIT de la protección de los trabajadores frente a los peligros derivados del trabajo a lo largo de sus cien años de historia

El objetivo principal de este estudio es poner de relieve, desde una perspectiva histórica, cómo ha abordado la OIT, desde sus orígenes hasta el momento actual, el grave y evidente problema de que el trabajo asalariado constituye, inevitable y consustancialmente, una fuente específica y cualificada de peligros para la vida y la salud de los trabajadores. A tal efecto, en primer lugar, se analizará la acción normativa desarrollada por esta Organización en materia de seguridad y salud en el trabajo, así como también, sus actuaciones complementarias de apoyo al respecto, tratando de identificar, por un lado, cuáles han sido los hitos más destacados; y, por otro, cuáles han sido los aspectos conceptuales y materiales en los que ha incidido fundamentalmente y cómo ha ido evolucionando en el tratamiento de los mismos. Y en segundo lugar, se expondrán cuáles son los principales retos de futuro y líneas de tendencia de la OIT en la protección de los trabajadores del mundo frente a los peligros derivados de un trabajo en continua transformación.

The main objective of this investigation is to highlight, from a historical point of view how the ILO has addressed the serious and evident problem of wage labor, since its origins to nowadays, which inevitably is dangerous towards both the life and health of the workers. Due to this, we will analyze the regulatory actions developed by this Organization on health and safety in the workplace, as well as any other complementary actions in favor of this regard. First of all, we will try to identify the most outstanding benchmarks and the conceptual and material aspects that have been fundamentally influenced and how these have developed. Secondly, we will present the main future challenges and trend lines of the ILO in the protection of the workers worldwide against dangers resulting from jobs in constant evolution.
