Little is known about how much time hospitality and tourism faculty members work each week and how they spend that time. Therefore, this study investigated how many hours faculty members work and how they spend their time. Results of an international survey revealed that faculty members work long hours that vary by rank and age. Faculty members also spend a considerable amount of time on activities such as e-mailing and other activities that might not traditionally be considered a major part of their job, which typically includes teaching, research, and service. Implications of the study and suggestions for further research are presented.
