Resumen de Routin control of balances in the pharmacy department

Josefa Polache Vengud, A. Soria Aledo, Seira Climent Ballester, Pedro García Salom

  • The present work describes the types of most widely used balances in pharmacy departments, the uncertainty sources that inevitably have all the weighings associated, and the scientific basis to develop the tests of sensitivity, repeatability, eccentricity and linearity in each balance. It is described the reference standard (USP), the procedure for performing the sensitivity and repeatability tests by the user, the optimum interval of each test, the weights and types of certified weights that are applied for each test, and the precision and maximum limits of permissible uncertainty. To conclude, a practical example of a balance is described where the sequence and execution of each process are developed in a way that the operator can reproduce and adapt an optimal routine control of his balances to guarantee the weighings are performed with the required safety and precision
