    En el presente trabajo estudiamos el clero regular femenino que vivía en la gran urbe andaluza de finales del siglo XV y principios del XVI, Sevilla. Entre los muchos aspectos relativos a las monjas, centramos nuestra atención en los cauces a través de los cuales este colectivo se implicaba activamente en la sociedad de la que formaba parte. El abandono de la clausura y el contacto con el mundo que se desarrollaba fuera de los monasterios vino de la mano de los servidores del cenobio, del prestigio socio-religioso de que gozaban estas mujeres consagradas, a nivel tanto personal como institucional; y, por último, uno de los grandes mecanismos de apertura social por parte de los monasterios femeninos:

    sus actividades económicas, que justifican la presencia de los miembros de las distintas casas en las escribanías públicas donde se generó la documentación que sirve de base a este trabajo.

    In this work we concentrate on the Regular feminine clergy living in the biggest urban area in Andalusia at the end of the 15th century and beginning of the 16th century, Seville. Amongst the many aspects relating to the nuns, we pay attention to those which make up their personal life and the number of times that they came out of ecclesiastical precincts to interweave with the society of which they were part.

    The abandon of the closing and the contact with the out of the monastery world are possible through different ways: the monastery servants, the religious prestige of the nuns and, in a special way, their economy, as individual beings: their property, their economic criteria, their participation in trading, breaking their vote of poverty. This is possible thanks to the documentation used in our study: the notarial protocols.
