The preventive excavation carried away on the Vinyes Velles archaeological site provided an interesting pottery and faunal collection of Roman chronology, mostly from the I century BC to the II century AD, with small survivals up to the V century AD, pottery stamps (on amphora, mortar and terra sigillata), graffiti in cursive Latin and Iberian pottery decorated with festoons and circles, bone industry, etc. The place has also offered a broad number of faunal remains to describe the local livestock. At last, this is a relevant site to look into the Romanization process of the Calderona mountain, a rugged region in the productive hinterland of three main Roman cities (Edeta, Valentia and Saguntum)
