La investigación de documentos existentes en el Archivo del Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales y en el Archivo General Militar de Segovia, ha permitido llegar a conocer que una mesa del siglo XVIII con un tablero de 80,5 × 185 cm y 72 muestras de mármoles italianos, que en la actualidad pertenece al Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales, fue inicialmente propiedad del conde de Gazzola (Piacenza, 1698 - Madrid, 1780), militar fundador del Real Colegio de Artillería de Segovia y descubridor de los templos de Paestum (Italia).

The investigation of existing documentation in the Archive of the Natural Science National Museum and the Archive of Military History of Segovia has shown that a XVIII century table with a top of 80.5 × 185 cm and 72 samples of Italian marbles, that are part of the collection of the Natural Science National Museum, was initially a property of count of Gazzola (Piacenza 1698 – Madrid 1780), soldier and founder of the Royal Artillery School of Segovia and discoverer of the temples of Paestum (Italy).
