Resumen de Romanística, antropología y comparatismo: reflexiones metodológicas a propósito de Martin Codax

Vicenç Beltran Pepió

  • Martin Codax’s seven pieces have close links with medieval and Renaissance musical poetry in several different languages. Sometimes these links can be isolated, identified and described as borrowings. In turn, there is a long, well-known series of parallels with archaic, distant poems. Deciding where to place the dividing line between poetic universals, a result of shared human experiences, and real mythical or literary traditions is not always an easy task. The author maps Martin Codax’s position within the complex web of all these poetic traditions and explores research paths ranging from philology and cultural anthropology to the history of religions.
