Presentamos una serie de 28 casos consecutivos de traumatismo perforante ocular con afectación del segmento posterior que precisaron vitrectomía por pars plana como procedimiento reparativo secundario. De los 28 ojos, 16 presentaban cuerpo extraño intraocular de localización posterior, 7 fueron traumatismos abiertos producidos por instrumentos incisos y 5 por objetos contusos. Los resultados han sido más favorables en los casos con cuerpo extraño intraocular (75% de éxitos anatómicos) que en los casos sin cuerpo extraño (58%) y dentro de estos últimos en los incisos (71.5%) que en los contusos (40%). Se discuten los resultados en relación al tipo de traumatismo y momento de la cirugía.
We present 28 consecutive cases of ocular penetrant traumatism with affectation of the posterior segment, that needs vitrectomy by pars plana as a secondary reparative procedure. Of the 28 eyes 16 presents intraocular foreign body of posterior localization, 7 were open tramatisms, caused by cutting instruments and 5 by contused objects. The results has been favorables in the cases with intraocular foreign body (75% of anatomic success) than in the cases without foreign body (58%) and inside the latter, the cutting ones (71 ,5%) than in the contused (40%). We discuss the results in relation to the type of traumatism and time of surgery.
