    Las cortes virreinales y su entorno desempeñaron un papel de gran importancia en la difusión de aquellos objetos elaborados en las regiones que formaron parte de lo que fue el Imperio español durante los siglos xvi al xviii. Ya fuera a través de adquisiciones o regalos de la más diversa índole, el virrey, su familia y los numerosos funcionarios que formaban el cuerpo administrativo de la monarquía española, tanto civil como religioso, acumularon en sus ajuares personales numerosos objetos que, culturalmente, remitían a aquellas áreas donde habían desempeñado sus cargos. La movilidad de estos altos funcionarios y sus propios intereses políticos y económicos, expresados a menudo a través del obsequio interesado, sumó nuevos espacios para la circulación de los objetos y los modelos y, con ello, para su conocimiento en ámbitos muy distantes. Este artículo explora la diversidad de fórmulas de intercambio en estas esferas.

    The viceregal courts and its surrounding area played an important role in the mobility of objects manufactured in the regions that were part of the Spanish Empire during the seventeenth and eighteenth century. The viceroy, his family and the numerous civil servants who were part of the administrative body of the Spanish monarchy, both civil and religious, accumulated numerous objects in their personal dowries that came from acquisitions or gifts from the most diverse nature which referred to those areas where they had performed their positions. The mobility of these high level civil servants and their own political and economic interests, often expressed through self-interest gifts, added up a new course for the mobility of objects and models and for their knowledge in faraway areas. This essay explores the diversity of drafts of exchange in these social areas.
