En este artículo se expone la construcción de las bóvedas laterales de la catedral de Jaca por el arquitecto Juan de Segura sobre la base de documentos coetáneos que han permitido adelantar en cinco años la fecha de inicio de las obras (hasta ahora fijada en 1520), que acabaron hacia 1527. También se hace referencia a la biografía del maestro y a la presencia de canteros vascos en Jaca y en todo el Alto Aragón durante el primer cuarto del siglo xvi.

This article examines the construction of the aisle vaults of Jaca cathedral by the architect Juan de Segura based on documents of the time that have enabled us to date the start of this work five years earlier than originally considered (until now it was thought to be 1520), the said construction being completed around 1527. It also refers to the biography of the master builder and to the presence of Basque stonemasons in Jaca and throughout the Alto Aragon during the first quarter of the 16th century.
