    En este trabajo se establece la relación entre Jovellanos y la Escuela Universalista Española del siglo XVIII, centrada en figuras como Juan Andrés, Antonio Eximeno o Lorenzo Hervás… Para ello, en primer lugar, se ensaya una definición de Universalismo y de Humanismo universalista. En segundo lugar, se describen ciertos nexos documentados entre Jovellanos y algunos miembros de la Escuela Universalista Española. Finalmente, se ponen de manifiesto los componentes universalistas y humanistas esenciales de la filosofía del ilustrado asturiano, a través de sus textos.

    This article shows the relationship between Jovellanos and the Spanish Universalist School of the eighteenth century, including characters like Juan Andrés, Antonio Eximeno or Lorenzo Hervás… First of all, we try to define Universalism and Universalist Humanism. Secondly, we discover documented links between Jovellanos and some of the members of the Spanish Universalist School.

    Finally, we highlight the Universalist and essential humanist components of the philosophy of Jovellanos, throught their texts.
