    La parte quirúrgica de la obra del cirujano hispano-árabe Abulcasis, Kîtab al-Tasrîf, puede considerarse una de las aportaciones más brillantes de la historia de la cirugía universal. Buscando los temas de carácter odontológico que se incluyen en el libro, encontramos una sistematizada exposición de diferentes enfermedades buco-dentales de resolución terapéutica quirúrgica que vinieron a informar muy positivamente a los cirujanos de la época y de siglos posteriores a raíz de la impresión del manuscrito. La iconografía, así mismo, ilustra el texto de forma notable por cuanto se diseña por primera vez el amplio materia del que debe disponer el cirujano antes de acometer cualquiera de las operaciones que se mencionan.

    The surgical side of the work of the Hispanic-Arab surgeon Abulcasis, Kîtab al-Tasrîf, can be considered one of the most brilliant contributions to the universal surgical history. Searching for the themes of odontological character that are included in this book, we can find a systematised exposition of different mouth and dental illnesses of therapeutical surgical resolution that informed positively the surgeons of that time and those in the posterior centuries following the printing of the manuscript. Likewise, the iconography illustrates the text in a notable way as it designs for the first time the wide material which the surgeon must have before undertaking any of the surgical operations that are mentioned.
