La Ruta de la Seda ha sido considerada como la ruta de comercio más importante en la historia de la humanidad. Esta antigua Ruta llamada también de las Especias constituyó el primer puente entre Oriente y Occidente y fue un importante nexo para el comercio, los intercambios culturales y tecnológicos entre los antiguos imperios de China, Asia Central, Occidental y el Imperio de Roma. La red tejió un gran camino de rutas comerciales a través del movimiento e interconexión de hombres, ideas, valores y mercancías, la Ruta de la Seda aportó múltiples beneficios derivados del intercambio cultural. Fruto de ello son los innumerables elementos y bienes culturales tangibles e intangibles que han sobrevivido a lo largo y ancho de la mítica ruta y que han conformado un valioso legado común.

The Silk Road has been considered as the most important trade route in the history of mankind. This ancient Route also called Spices was the first bridge between East and West and was an important link for trade, cultural and technological exchanges between the ancient empires of China, Central and Western Asia and the Empire of Rome. The network wove a great path of commercial routes through the movement and interconnection of men, ideas, values and merchandise, the Silk Road provided multiple benefits derived from cultural exchange. The result of this are the innumerable elements and tangible and intangible cultural assets that have survived throughout the mythical route and that have formed a valuable common legacy. This common heritage is an added value for the tourism potential of our territory, therefore, with the incorporation of Valencia (Spain) to the programs of the UNESCO and UNWTO Silk Routes, it is presented as an exceptional opportunity for the international projection of Valencia, which together with Culture, Tourism and also Trade, are important assets to implement the 2030 Agenda and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
