Resumen de Dinámica de crecimiento de alnus nepalensis d. don en el noroccidente de Ecuador continental

  En este artículo, se estudió la dinámica de crecimiento de la especie Alnus nepalensis, localizada en la Zona de Intag, al Noroccidente del Ecuador Continental. Tomando datos de altura total y comercial, así como el diámetro a la altura de 1,30 m., durante los primeros 23 años de vida de especímenes distribuidos en un área de 127.8 hectáreas, se pudo  analizar el ciclo silvícola de la especie en su totalidad. Alnus nepalensis resultó ser un árbol de rápido crecimiento. La altura y DAP máximos fueron 28,0 m. y 83,0 cm. respectivamente y fueron encontradas en especies de 22 años de edad, plantadas en sistemas agroforestales, asociadas con Coffea arabiga. La especie muestra un crecimiento precoz en altura durante su edad juvenil. A los tres años, registra su máximo incremento medio anual (IMA) de 2,73 m., mientras que en el período entre el  tercer año  y el séptimo presenta un crecimiento constante de 2,66 m/año. El mayor IMA de crecimiento diametral fue de 5,50 cm. durante el octavo año, lo cual coincide con la edad,  donde el ritmo de incremento en altura empieza a desacelerarse. El análisis dasométrico nos permite concluir que el crecimiento de Alnus nepalensis en Ecuador es superior al alcanzado en otros países, incluido Nepal, de donde es originaria la especie.

  In this article, the dynamics were studied and investigate the growth dynamics of the Alnusnepalensis species located in the Intag Zone, Northwest of Continental Ecuador. By measuring the total and commercial height, as well as the diameter at 1.3 m during the first 23 years of age of specimens distributed over an area of 127.8 hectares, we were able to analyze the silvicultural cycle of the species. Alnusnepalensis turned out to be a fast growing tree. The maximum height and diameter were 28.0 m and 83.0 cm, respectively, found in 22 year-old specimens planted in agroforestry systems in association with Coffeaarabica. The species show a precocious growth in height during its juvenile age. At three years old, it registers its maximum annual average increase (IMA) in height of 2.73 m; while in the period between year three and year seven there is a constant growth of 2.66 m / year. The maximum IMA of diametral growth was 5, 50 cm during the eight year, which coincides with the age at which the rate of increase in height begins to slow down. The dasometric analysis allows us to conclude that the growth of Alnusnepalensis in Ecuador is higher than those in other countries, including Nepal, where the species originates.
