The principle objective of this article is to highlight the role of the Museum’s educator. We will begin by recognising the importance of the University education of this profession, which is increasingly in demand in our multicultural world. We will continue with a specific reflection on the role of the educator-mediator by providing an up to date perspective on the reality of education and cultural mediation at museums, exhibition rooms and heritage centres. Following these reflections, we will present case studies which demonstrate various ways of being and working as an educator. These can also be extrapolated to other locations and to the different realities in Spain.
