Conducta heterosexual en un grupo de estudiantes universitarios.

    El estudio de la conducta sexual humana, presenta gran interés en la actualidad. El ser humano tiene la capacidad de emitir una respuesta sexual cuando se le coloca ante un estímulo sexual. Sin embargo, este mecanismo fisiológico, puede ser modificado por diversos factores socio-culturales, los cuales podrán establecer patrones de conducta sexual en determinadas sociedades (Carrera, 1980). Se realizó una investigación en 160 estudiantes universitarios, de los Ciclos Básico y Profesional, de las escuelas de Medicina e Ingeniería de la Universidad de Los Andes, en Mérida, Venezuela; solteros, procedentes del estado Mérida y nacidos entre los años 1949y 1959, a los cuales se les presentó un cuestionario con cincuenta y siete preguntas sobre conducta sexual. Los resultados obtenidos y analizados nos informan que en general, los estudiantes seleccionados, presentan patrones de conducta sexual bastante similares. Se sugiere complementar el estudio con una muestra general de la población estudiantil de la Universidad de Los Andes y precisar los patrones de conducta sexual en estudiantes procedentes de otros estados del país.

    The human being has the ability to emit a sexual response when sexually stimulated. However, this physiological mechanism can be modified by different socio-cultural factors, which could define patterns of sexual behavior in certain societies (Carrera, 1980). A research was carried out on university students (both sexes) of the Basic and Professional levels of die Medicine and Engineering Colleges of the Universidad de Los Andes, at Mérida, Venezuela. All were single, born in the State of Mérida, between 1949 and 1959, to whom a questionnaire on sexual behavior, with 57 questions was given. The results were analyzed and they show in general, that the chosen students have patterns of heterosexual behavior very similar, independently of the career (Medicine or Engineering) and of the level (Basic or Professional level). It is suggested that the study should be supplemented with a general sample of the total student population of the Universidad de Los Andes, in order to give precision to the patterns of sexual behavior in students born in others States of Venezuela.
