Resumen de Salud bucodental en la infancia

En los últimos tiempos diferentes estudios epidemiológicos señalan un gran aumento en los casos de patologías dentales en la población infantil, siendo la caries la patología principal más preocupante no solo por su alta incidencia sino también por sus graves repercusiones en la salud del niño.
Con este artículo se pretende conocer la prevalencia actual de la caries infantil, qué es, y cuáles son sus factores desencadenantes, centrándonos en las principales y más actuales líneas de actuación para la prevención como principal medio de intervención al ser una enfermedad potencialmente controlable.

In recent times, different epidemiological studies show a great increase in the number of cases of dental pathologies in children, being tooth decay the main pathology and the most worrying, not only because of its high occurrence but also for its serious effects in children health.
With this article we intend to know the current prevalence of children caries, what it is, and which its triggers are, focusing our attention upon the main and most current lines of action towards the forethought as the essential way of acting as it is a potentially controllable disease.
