  Orazio dimostra nelle proprie opere una attenta conoscenza delle problematiche giuridiche: impiega infatti, con assoluta frequenza, la terminologia tratta dal diritto - quello antico e quello a lui coevo - a fini parodistici (e non solo); ma spesso affronta egli stesso, ex professo, tematiche squisitamente giuridiche, con proprietà di linguaggio ed evidenti competenze di merito. Il presente contributo, adottando un criterio di lettura volto a enucleare specifici passi della produzione oraziana, del tutto indipendentemente dalla qualificazione del diritto cui il poeta si riferisce, mira ad arricchire i risultati ai quali sono giunti le ricerche in materia, evidenziando come i versi del poeta siano, tra l’altro, testimoni di alcune delle innovazioni giurisprudenziali occorse durante il principato augusteo.

  Horace demonstrates in his works a careful knowledge of legal problems: in fact, he uses, with absolute frequency, the terminology drawn from the law - the ancient one and the one he coexists - for parodistic purposes (and not only); but he often faces, ex-professed himself, exquisitely juridical issues, with properties of language and evident merit skills. The present contribution, adopting a reading criterion aimed at identifying specific steps of the production of the Poet, quite independently of the qualification of the right to which the poet refers, aims to integrate the results to which the researchs on the subject has been highlighted, highlighting how the Horace’s poems are, among other things, witnesses of some of the juridical innovations that took place during the Principate of Augustus.
