Ontologically prisoner of the society, the work, in all its dimensions, is the founding base of the auto-development of the material and spiritual life. The Geography of the Work puts itself in scene, to answer the questions regarding the reality. Thus, if there is no difference relating the object, it is in the action of the subject that the attentions turned to. That is, in its geographical expression the work can be understood either at the level of the metabolic relationship men-environment, or in the dimension of the space-society regulation, in its different manifestations (wage-earner, autonomous worker, informal, domiciliary, third part, etc). This implies, then, necessarily, in the discussion about the locations, which are not limited immediately to the visible. The base categories of Geography (environment, territory and space) will to the necessary mediations, attending the challenges put by the subject, which in a continuous effort of theorization to the concretization of a Geography of the Work.

Ontologicamente prisioneiro da sociedade, o trabalho, em todas as suas dimensões, é a base fundante do auto- desenvolvimento da vida material e espiritual. A Geografia do Trabalho se põe em cena, para responder as perguntas em relação a realidade. Dessa forma, se não existe diferença em relação ao objeto, é na ação do sujeito que as atenções se voltam. Isto é, em sua expressão geográfica o trabalho pode ser entendido tanto em nível da relação metabólica homem-meio, quanto na dimensão da regulação sociedade-espaço, nas suas diferentes manifestações (assalariado, autônomo, informal, domiciliar, terceirizado, etc.). Isso implica, pois, necessariamente, na discussão das localizações, que, não se limitam ao imediato, ao visível. As categorias de base da Geografia (paisagem, território e espaço) farão as mediações necessárias, atendendo os desafios postos pelo sujeito, que no esforço contínuo de teorização para a concreção de uma Geografia do Trabalho.
