¿Qué nos dicen los estudios de incidencia de infección de la herida quirúrgica?

    Las infecciones de la herida quirúrgica constituyen un importante problema de salud en la actualidad. Sin embargo, aún queda pendiente conocer el aporte de las diversas investigaciones afines al esclarecimiento de esta problemática. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar el conocimiento generado a partir de este tipo de estudios a nivel mundial y fomentar la producción de investigaciones sobre la incidencia de infecciones de herida quirúrgica en Ecuador. Se realizó un análisis documental del contenido de 27 documentos, previamente seleccionados por su pertinencia y alineación al objetivo de la investigación. El proceso se sustentó en una adaptación de la metodología propuesta por Guimarães, Moraes y Guarido en el año 2007. Se construyó el andamiaje operacional a partir de la identificación, extracción y condensación de la información.

    Surgical wound infections are a major health problem today. However, it is still pending to know the contribution of various related research to the clarification of this problem. This work aims at analyzing the knowledge generated from this type of studies worldwide and to promote the production of research on the incidence of surgical wound infections in Ecuador. A documentary analysis of the content of 27 documents was carried out, previously selected for their relevance and alignment to the objective of the investigation. The process was based on an adaptation of the methodology proposed by Guimarães, Moraes and Guarido in 2007. The operational scaffolding was constructed from the identification, extraction and condensation of the information.
