During the last three decades, tyre-road noise has become one of the most important environmental and driving comfort problems related to cars and trucks. Several important aspects of the problem, such as generation mechanisms, the influence of speed, load and tyre inflation, as well as tyre size and pattern design on noise emission, have already been investigated in the seventies. Most of the reported "pilot" tests were performed, however, on a very limited number of tyres. This paper sumarizes some measurements from summer 1996 to winter 1996. The measurements were made at IDIADA center, for his expectional test site facilities
