    • The relationship between science and literacy is a close and complex one; developing skills in the latter can support students to become better scientists. Numeracy presents a parallel challenge; developing a common terminology and common strategies may prove to be more realistic than expecting maths teachers to develop students’ skills before they are needed in science.
