En el 75 aniversario (en noviembre de 2015) de la muerte en Montauban del que fue ministro, Presidente del Gobierno y Presidente de la II República española, en este trabajo se pretende reivindicar su memoria en varios aspectos de su figura. En primer lugar como intelectual y escritor, que por ser un relevante personaje político y marcado por la política -en realidad su persona simboliza la II Repú- blica-, no haya sido suficientemente conocido y valorado. En segundo lugar como una persona de espíritu y convicción republicana que pretendió modernizar España en tiempos no proclives para ellos por los extremismos imperantes.

This work aims to vindicate the memory, on the year of this 75th death anniversary, of Mr. Manuel Azaña who was Republic’s President but also Minister and Government’s President during the Second Spanish Republic. We aim to claim that memory in different key aspects of his leading figure. At first, as an intellectual and as a writer who has not been well-known and valued enough because of being a prominent political figure who embodied the spirit of the Second Spanish Republic. Secondly, as a person with a deep and convinced republican spirit and who tried to modernize Spain in a turbulent time of political extremism.
