A partir de un contexto cultural que refleja una aguda crisis de la subjetividad dominada por la emotividad, surge una creciente incapacidad de asumir compromisos, de hacer promesas y cumplirlas. El presente trabajo se propone profundizar en el origen y el significado de la experiencia de la promesa. A la luz de la emergencia educativa en la que nos encontramos, el artículo señala algunas indicaciones y pistas pedagógicas que puedan ayudar a educar en la promesa como camino de maduración del hombre.

The current cultural context that reflects an acute crisis of the subjectivity dominated by the emotional, arises a growing inability to make commitments, to make promises and to fulfill them. The present work intends to fathom into the origin and meaning of the experience of the promise. In light of the educational emergency in which we find ourselves, the article points out some indications and pedagogical cues that may help to educate the promise as a way of maturing man.
