The objective of this study was to analyze the referees' view on their performances in the children's category, of the futsal modality in the School Games Maranhenses of 2014. The sample consisted of 14 male referees who worked at JEM's 2014. To analyze the sample, a questionnaire was applied with 9 semi-open questions. It was identified that 78.57% of the sample is over 31 years of age, the high school with 42.85% was the highest level of schooling, 100% of the referees had the training course, 42.85% of the participants presented the work time of 1-2 years, the vocation with 92.85% was the major reason for the professional choice, 85.71% of the sample believe that they do not need specific formation to work in the category of children, the criterion of choice to work at JEM's was the indication with 78.57%. The results showed the lack of women referees in the federation, training of referees is mandatory for work in games, working time shows that most of the sample is early in the career, vocation to work was higher than profitability and the criterion of choice to work at JEM's does not consider the experience with the public or the environment in question. It is concluded that it is possible to identify trends within this profession (referee), and it becomes clear that the referee needs to analyze his / her way of acting at JEM's, which should be directed towards the school objective that the sport offers for child development.

O objetivo do presente estudo foi analisar a visão dos árbitros diante de suas atuações na categoria infantil, da modalidade futsal nos Jogos Escolares Maranhenses de 2014. A amostra foi composta por 14 árbitros, do gênero masculino, escalados para atuar no JEM's 2014. Para analisar a amostra foi aplicado um questionário com 09 perguntas semiabertas. Foi identificado que 78,57% da amostra está acima dos 31 anos, o ensino médio completo com 42,85% foi o maior nível de escolaridade, 100% dos árbitros possuem o curso de formação, com 42,85% o tempo de atuação encontrado foi 1-2 anos, a vocação com 92,85% foi maior motivo para a escolha profissional, 85,71% dos pesquisados acreditam não ser necessário uma formação específica para atuar na categoria infantil, o critério mais utilizado para atuar no JEM'S foi a indicação com 78,57%. Assim constata-se a falta de mulheres dentro do quadro de arbitragem da federação, o curso de formação de árbitros é obrigatório para atuar em jogos, o tempo de atuação mostra que a maior parte da amostra está no início da carreira, a vocação para o trabalho é maior que a rentabilidade e o critério para atuar no JEM's não considera ter experiência com o público ou o ambiente em questão. Conclui-se que é possível identificar tendências dentro desta profissão (árbitro), e torna-se claro que o árbitro necessita analisar sua forma de atuação nos JEM’s, pois a mesma deve ser direcionada aos objetivos da proposta escolar que o esporte oferece ao desenvolvimento infantil.
