    El presente texto recoge un exhaustivo análisis sobre la historia constructiva del macelo municipal de Langreo, en el Principado de Asturias. Se trata de una de las edificaciones más significativas de este municipio que ejemplifica, a través de sus muros, la evolución arquitectónica de los espacios destinados a acoger la matanza de reses, en consonancia con la normativa sanitaria que fue surgiendo a lo largo de los años a tal efecto. En la actualidad, constituye una muestra de rehabilitación y reutilización del patrimonio industrial a través de su reconversión en pinacoteca municipal, de la mano del arquitecto Jovino Martínez Sierra.

    The text presented here provides a comprehensive analysis of Langreo municipal abattoir building history, located in the Principado of Asturias. This is one of the most significant buildings in this municipality which exemplifies, through its walls, the architectural evolution of the spaces destined to host the slaughter of cattle; in line with the health regulations that was developing over the years to this purpose. Moreover, nowadays, it is a sign of rehabilitation and reuse of industrial heritage through its conversion into a municipal art gallery by the architect Jovino Martínez Sierra.
