  • Alzheimer's disease is the leading cause of dementia. The main anatomical-pathological feature is the accumulation of proteins that are shown in post-mortem histological studies as amyloid aggregates. Treatments aimed at staining neurotransmitters have been shown to be ineffective. The research focuses on immunotherapy (active and passive) against protein aggregates
