Resumen de A semiótica hoje: avanços e perspectivas

The research, in general, no longer belongs exclusively to the domain of the professional researchers, since; it is currently one of the greatest functions of the globalized societies, taking part, consequently, in the ways of the identity construction that these societies propose. If the semiotics still wants to acknowledge itself as a discipline of scientific vocation, it cannot escape from this globalized movement. Byproposingabodyofconceptsandmethodstoquestionthepractices,thetexts,theobjects, the social interactions, the forms of life and the collective modes of existence and the collectivity, the semiotics has conditions to build these meanings, especially if it works in collaboration with other human and social sciences which contribute to raise, each one according to their own point of view, this architecture of human signification. In this paper, in view of this scenario, we seek to point out what are some of the challenges, the advances and the perspectives of the semiotics for the world today. Even if we do not exhaust the possibilities of a full project in the scope of semiotics, we believe that we have been able to choose some examples that stand out in the present concerns of our society and that are objects of a social demand and a more urgent politics. Therefore, we hope that our observation will be enough to raise awareness of other researchers for the social challenges of the 21st century, which, for us, should be one of the “vocations” of semiotics.

A pesquisa, de modo geral, deixou de pertencer apenas ao domínio de pesquisadores profissionais, na medida em que, atualmente, é uma das grandes funções das sociedades globalizadas, participando, consequentemente, dos modos de construção de identidades que essas sociedades propõem. Se a semiótica quer reconhecer-se ainda como disciplina de vocação científica, não pode escapar desse movimento global. Ao propor um corpo de conceitos e de métodos para questionar as práticas, os textos, os objetos, as interações sociais, as formas de vida e os modos de existência coletivos e da coletividade, a semiótica tem condições de construir esses sentidos, especialmente se trabalhar em colaboração com as outras ciências humanas e sociais que contribuem para edificar, cada uma de seu próprio ponto de vista, essa arquitetura das significações humanas. Neste artigo, tendo em vista esse cenário, buscaremos apontar quais são alguns dos desafios, dos avanços e das perspectivas da semiótica para o mundo de hoje. Ainda que não esgotemos as possibilidades de um projeto integral no âmbito da semiótica, acreditamos que pudemos escolher alguns exemplos que ocupam lugar de destaque nas preocupações atuais de nossa sociedade e que são objetos de uma demanda social e política mais urgente. Esperamos, portanto, que nossa reflexão seja suficiente para chamar a atenção de outros pesquisadores para os desafios sociais do século XXI, o que, ao nosso ver, deve ser uma das “vocações” da semiótica.
