Resumen de Parentalidad y autoridad: Un reto en el contexto de la migración internacional

  Este artículo analiza la autoridad y los sentidos que se le asignan a la maternidad y a la paternidad en familias de Colombia con progenitores migrantes internacionales. El escrito centra su atención en: 1) las relaciones de autoridad que construyen los padres y las madres migrantes, y los hijos que permanecen en Colombia; y 2) la percepción de la relación parental que construyen unos y otros cuando migra uno de los progenitores o ambos. El análisis se realiza con las voces de los padres, las madres y los hijos.

  This article analyzes authority and the meanings that parents and children assign to motherhood and fatherhood in Colombian families with parents who migrate internationally. The paper focuses on: a) the relationships of authority built by both migrant mothers/fathers and the children who remain in Colombia, and b) the perception of the parental relationship that they all build when one of the parents migrate–or when both of them do–. This analysis takes into account the voices of fathers, mothers and children.
