A full follow-up of 295 fractures of the shaft of tibia treated by conservative methods is analysed, 153 of them treated by long plater and 120 by gaiter and early weight bearing.
The best results were obtained by the Iatter method, with an earlier fussion and lesser rate of pseudoarthrosis. These results were compared with those obtained by surgical methods.
