    El viejo caserón conocido como "Parque Florido" contiene el museo del gran coleccionista D. José Lázaro Galdiano, que vivió y murió ahí en 1947. Fue el fundador de la galería inaugurada el 27 de enero de 1951 y completada y ampliada en 1958. Comprende siete salas distribuidas en cuatro pisos. La principal característica de este museo se basa en su universalidad.

    The oíd madrileño dwelling known as "Parque Florido" houses the Museum which bears the ñame of the great collector and patriot D. José Lázaro Galdiano who lived and died there in 1947. He was the founder of this Art Gallery solemnly inaugurated in January the 27 th, 1951, and completed in 1958 witfa the enlargement of its setting.

    This precious abode comprises thirty seven halls disposed in four stories.

    The present article offers the visitor an account wcich can be broadened through numerous notes here gathered.

    Considering the great variety of pieces which make up the fabulous whole, a statement is made in order to underline the particularity of this Museum which lies specially in its universal sense.

    The enumeration of its contents is not attempted by the author, but a mention ouhgt to be made —to inform those who ignore it and as a pleasant remembrace for others who are aware— of the choiced series coimposed by eminent pieces of ivory, enamels, gold and silver workmanship, jewels, paintings sculptures, fomiture, watches and clock collections, fans, all kinds of arms. textile, medals, ceramics... Summing up, a true display of beautiful art Works which increasingly attract the attention of connaisseurs and travellers and at the some time win wonn praises.
