Resumen de Constitución y aporías del indigenismo global: Cultura, raza y soberanía. Reflexiones a partir del caso Mapuche

  A partir de un estudio de caso -los avatares recientes del movimiento mapuche en Chile- el artículo retrata la figura del indígena global. Para ello hace dialogar el caso mapuche con otras experiencias indígenas y con los debates contemporáneos en los estudios de indigenidad. La tesis defendida es que las políticas indígenas actuales se ven atrapadas en tres aporías, que son, asimismo, constitutivas de la propia indigenidad. Estas aporías tienen que ver con la manera de constituir lo indígena en el espacio y en el tiempo, siendo la autenticidad, cultural y corporal, y la soberanía, lo que ponen en juego.

  Following a case study — the recent Mapuche movement in Chile — this paper portrays the figure of the global indigenenous. In order to do that, the Mapuche’s case study will be discussed in relation to other indigenous experiences worldwide, in the midst of the current debates within the field of Indigenous Studies. The thesis defended here is that indigenous policies are trapped today in three paradoxes, constitutive of indigeneity itself. These paradoxes are concerned with how indigeneity is constituted in time and space. In this context sovereignty, cultural and physical authenticity are at stake.
