  Un mundo nuevo tiene que ser nuevo, pero además debe afectar a todo el mundo. El descubrimiento de América satisfizo ambas condiciones y desde entonces solo ha habido otro acontecimiento así: la revolución digital. Desde el punto de vista de la imagen que el ser humano tiene de sí mismo ambos procesos no son, sin embargo, equivalentes. El mundo nuevo del siglo XVI consistió en profundizar en el conocimiento de cada hombre, mientras que la del siglo XXI se propone simplemente difundir su imagen. En el artículo se reflexiona sobre las condiciones de esta difusión narcisista y sobre las implicaciones que tiene en el método científico.

  A new world has to be new, moreover it has to affect everyone. The discovery of America satisfied both conditions. Since then, there is only one event that meets the same requirements: the digital revolution. The new world of the 16th century contributed to deepen our knowledge of human beings, but that of the 21st century is simply intended to disseminate its image all over the world. This paper examines the conditions of such dissemination and its consequences on the scientific method
