Resumen de Querubismo: un estudio de tres generaciones

Se presentan cinco casos de querubismo en tres generaciones sucesivas.
Todos los casos fueron diagnosticados por sus manifestaciones clínico-radiológicas, realizándose un seguimiento de los pacientes a lo largo del tiempo. En las tres generaciones se hallaron imagenes radiológicas radiolúcidas en ambos maxilares.
El lugar típico de las lesiones fue la región anterior y posterior de la mandíbula, así como las tuberosidades maxilares.
En cuatro de los cinco casos observamos alteraciones dentales tales como agenesias, ectopias, apiñamiento y malposiciones en la dentición temporal y/o permanente. Se comenta la evolución seguida por los pacientes, así como el planteamiento del tratamiento.

We report five cases of cherubism in three successive generations.
All cases were diagnosed by their clinical and radiologicalfeatures, and the patients werefollowedfor severa! years. In these three generations, jawbones hada radiolucid appearance and bilateral osteolytic lesions involving both mandibular and maxillary bones we re found. The typical areas of the lesions were the anterior and posterior mandibular sites and maxillary tuberosities. In four of five patients dental abnormalities were seen, such as agenesia, ectopies, crowding and malposition in the temporary, mixed and permanent dentition. The evolution and treatment of these cases is commented upan.
