    La inversión estatal en conservación y restauración del patrimonio cultural en Colombia ha contado con recursos apreciables durante los últimos 37 años, como lo demuestra el análisis de los informes de gestión de las principales cuatro entidades que han actuado en este campo. No obstante, mucho se queda sin restaurar y los recursos se destinan invariablemente a los mismos tipos de bienes culturales. Se argumenta que esta orientación responde a las normas culturales de comprobación y redundancia que determinan la forma como se produce el patrimonio cultural restaurado.

    Government investment in the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage in Colombia has relied upon the availability of considerable financial resources for the past 37 years. This is clearly shown by the analysis of the management reports of the four main agencies acting in this field. However, much is left unattended and resources are invariably destined to the same types of cultural buildings and objects. I propose that this particular way of investing money follows the cultural rules of proof and redundancy, thus determining how the restored cultural heritage is produced.
