Resumen de La falanǧah, un simple aromatique de la pharmacopée arabo-islamique de nature non identifiée: essai de détermination

  Basándonos en las descripciones de la falanǧa que figuran en escritos árabo-islámicos de diferentes épocas y comparándolas con los datos florísticos, etnobotánicos y lingüísticos que hemos recogido a raíz de una importante compilación bibliográfica que abarca un territorio que se extiende desde el Oriente Medio a la China, hemos tratado de aclarar la naturaleza enigmática de este simple aromático cuyas identificaciones propuestas hasta ahora no han convencido.

  Este examen comparativo, lo más ceñido posible a los textos antiguos y a los conocimientos actuales sobre las plantas, sus composiciones, fitónimos y empleos, nos ha permitido avanzar propuestas de identificación de la falanǧa, de acuerdo con las diferentes interpretaciones que nos han dado los autores antiguos, una identidad que deriva de modo diferente según el espacio y la época que se considere. Esta diversificación de la falanǧa en diferentes productos se ha producido siguiendo una lógica que ya habíamos señalado en un artículo precedente a propósito del zarnab y que tratamos de hacer comprensible en el presente estudio

  “Falanǧah, an arabo-islamic aromatic drug of not identified nature: try of determination”. By basing us on the falanǧah’s descriptions find in arabo-islamic medical writings of various periods and by comparing them with the floristic, ethnobotanic and linguistic data that we managed to collect following an important bibliographical compilation concerning a territory which extends from the Middle East to China, we tried to clarify the enigmatic nature of this simple aromatic for which all the identities which were proposed up to there were considered as not satisfactory.

  This comparative study, realized in closer of the ancient texts and the acquired knowledge today on plants, their compositions, their vernacular names and their uses, allowed us to express propositions of elucidation of the identity of the falanǧah, in agreement with the various interpretations given by the ancient authors, an identity which declines differently according to the space and the period considered. This differentiation of the falanǧah in several products was made according to a logic which we had already indicated in a previous article concerning the zarnab and that we try to make understandable in the present study..
