Resumen de L´ideal d´ensenyament musical a Mallorca (1874-1923): una qüestió social més que legal

  Al llarg del segle xix la legislació impulsada pels diferents governs estatals denota la inexistència d�un pla coherent d�instrucció musical. La Llei Moyano de 1857, referent legal educatiu del segle xix, excloïa la música com a matèria de la primera i segona ensenyança i no la creia necessària per obtenir els títols de mestre de Primera Ensenyança Elemental i Superior.

  No obstant això, la demanda, tant d�instrucció musical com de música per a l�esbarjo, fou creixent en una societat que amb el pas dels anys es mostrà cada vegada més preocupada per l�educació musical en la formació de les persones i a omplir espais d�oci i cultura. Així, durant la segona meitat del segle xix, prenen importància una sèrie d�institucions de caire social i popular que fan de la instrucció musical nexe d�unió i cohesió social. En el present estudi farem una ullada històrica a les entitats que fomentaren l�ensenyament musical en la societat de la Mallorca d�entre els dos segles.

  Throughout the nineteenth century legislation promoted by various state governments indicate the lack of a coherent plan of musical instruction. Moyano law of 1857, legal education concerning the nineteenth century, excluded music as a matter of first and second teaching and did not think it was necessary to obtain the titles of master and First Teaching Elementary Education. However, the demand for both music instruction and music for pleasure, in a society that has grown over the years, has proved increasingly concerned about music education in the training of people and in filling spaces between leisure and culture.

  Thus, during the second half of the nineteenth century, taken a number of important institutions and popular social nature, a link has been created between music instruction and social cohesion. In this study we will look at historical organizations which have promoted music education in Mallorca society within the two centuries.
